Hewlett-Packard Co and 3M Corp are combining their knowledge to offer a system that will print graphics that are guaranteed to last two years outdoors and five years indoors. The system, which combines 3M’s experience in supplies for durable outdoor graphics and HP’s printer expertise, can produce 36 inch-wide graphics at resolutions up to 600 DPI. The companies claim that it is the first time in the large format graphics industry that two large manufacturers have combined to offer a thermal ink jet graphics system that offers unquestionable product performance. The system is built around HP’s DesignJet 2500CP and 2000CP series printers.
