Shareholders of 3Com Corp and US Robotics Corp have voted to approve the merger announced in February and approved by the Securities and Exchange Commission last month (CI No 3,160). The transaction will officially close on Thursday, following necessary filings. Under the terms of the agreement US Robotics’ shareholders will receive 1.75 shares of 3Com stock for each USR share they hold. The value of the merger is $8.5bn based on June 10, 1997 closing prices.
