3Com Corp shares slumped more than 20% after it warned that earnings for its fiscal third quarter would fall short of Wall Street estimates. The company said it expected sales for the third quarter to February 28 to be $770m to $810m, and per share earnings of $0.45 to $0.50, where the market had wanted $0.60.
