3COM PROMISES SNA GATEWAY FOR 3+OPEN LAN MANAGER

3om Corp plans an IBM-compatible Systems Network Architecture Communications Manager gateway supporting MS-DOS and OS/2 networks under 3Com’s 3+Open LAN Manager network operating system. 3+Open Maxess is promised for the summer, and is to incorporate features compatible with IBM’s OS/2 Extended Edition Communications Manager, and will run on OS/2 servers, so that 3+Open LAN Manager customers can connect to IBM systems. 3+Open LAN Manager is based on the Microsoft Corp OS/2 LAN Manager, co developed by Microsoft 3Com. 3+Open Maxess 1.0 will support MS DOS, 2.0 OS/2 as well.
