3COM HAS FAST ETHERNET NETWORK INTERFACE BOARD FOR AT BUS

Santa Clara, California-based 3Com Corp is now shipping its first Fast Ethernet network interface board for the AT bus, the Fast EtherLink ISA 10/100Base-TX Parallel Tasking NIC. It is based around the company’s Parallel Tasking technology and Bus Mastering architecture, and has 64Kb of buffer memory. Also included is 3Com’s desktop distributed RMON, which is designed to provide data collection at the end station. Support is included for 3Com’s Priority Access Control Enabled technology (CI No 2,824) for the prioritization of time-sensitive traffic. Network operating system support includes Windows NT, Windows95, and NetWare. The product is shipping now at $175 in packs of 20.
