3COM HAS ETHERNET CHIP FOR NETWORK COMPUTERS

3Com Corp says it has developed a 10/100Mbps Ethernet network interface chip specifically for use in NetPCs and other thin client units. The 3C917 includes 10/100 Fast Ethernet networking with over-the-LAN management as well as multiple versions of 3Com’s Wake-On-LAN software. The interface chip is available now in sample quantities for NetPC manufacturers.
