Santa Clara, California-based 3Com Corp has publicized details of its forthcoming LinkBuilder FMS 100 T4 hub and the Fast EtherLink 10/100Base-T4 PCI network interface board. The LinkBuilder FMS 100 T4 hub offers 12 dedicated 100Base-T4 Past Ethernet ports with optional 100Base-TX or FX port. As many as eight units are stackable together and 3Com claims that it is the first stackable Fast Ethernet hub to provide interconnection between 100Base-TX and 100Base-T4. Available in June, it will cost around $220. The Fast EtherLink product supports Fast Ethernet connections across Category 3, 4 or 5 unshielded twisted pair cable on four pairs of wire, and 10Base-T Ethernet connections to any compatible unshielded twisted pair cable plant. Out now, it sells for $170.
