Santa Clara, California-based 3Com Corp is claiming the worldwide leadership in the market for Ethernet stackable hubs, following the publication of International Data Corp’s preliminary 1994 LAN Hub Market Segmentation Results, which is a precursor to its forthcoming report, The 1995 Analysis of the LAN Hub Market. IDC gives 3Com a 26% share of the Ethernet stackable hub market, followed by Bay Networks Inc with 24%. According to the report, 3Com overtook Bay Networks this year, as the latter saw a 5% erosion in its market share, which compared with a 2% gain by 3Com.
