3Com Corp has begun construction of a new 232,000-square-foot building to triple its existing manufacturing capacity in Santa Clara, at a cost of about $43m: the building will initially produce its EtherLink and TokenLink families of network adaptors and SuperStack network system; the company also completed an addition to its manufacturing capacity at its 60,000-square-foot plant outside Dublin.
