3Com Corp, Santa Clara says that preliminary results for its second quarter to November 30 indicate that orders for its networking systems grew approximately 30% from the first quarter to about $110m: it says that in particular, it won stronger than forecast orders for its new 3+Open generation of network operating software, for the MultiConnect family of multimedia transmission systems, and for terminal-to-host computer products.
