26 biggest and smallest county council IT budgets

How much did they all spend on G-Cloud?

By Joe Curtis

This week we’ve learned that county councils don’t appear to like G-Cloud.

With a total £439m spend between the 26 councils across the UK, 18 didn’t procure any cloud services through the Government framework, designed to save public money by making it easier for SMBs to bid on public contracts.

Collectively, the eight councils that did spend money through G-Cloud spent a tiddly £385,083, according to a Freedom of Information (FoI) request from IT security group Bull Information Systems.

Here we’ve listed the biggest IT spenders (based on their last financial year) among county councils, including the amount they each spent on G-Cloud, so you can see whether it’s worth your time signing up to the Government’s service.
