24 PENCE JUMP IN LOGICA PLC’S SHARE PRICE TO 382P

By CBR Staff Writer

You pays your money and you takes your choice: one explanation for a 24 pence jump in Logica Plc’s share price to 382p on Wednesday had it that Olivetti & Co was stakebuilding ahead of a bid, another suggested that Cap Gemini Sogeti SA was about to dump its 22% or so of Sema Group Plc and move in on Logica; last time anything like that happened, the would-be predator was Electronic Data Systems Corp, which withdrew after the Logica top brass told it you can buy Logica, but if you do we and most of the other assets will just walk out the door.
