24-HOUR STRIKE BY BRITISH TELECOM ENGINEERS

Some 15,000 British Telecom engineers were out on a 24-hour strike in support of suspended staff from East Anglia to the Welsh border, including areas of the Midlands and London yesterday: Telecom says anyone out today will be in breach of contract and will not be paid.
