The European Commission cleared a German subsidy of $200m to help Advanced Micro Devices Inc build chip plant in Dresden. It said the investment will create 1,430 direct jobs and a further 3,000 to 3,700 jobs with the attraction to the area of a high number of small supplier companies. The subsidy was granted by the land of Saxony. The investment’s total cost is $1,864m.
