1991 INTERNATIONAL JOINT CONFERENCE ON AI IN AUSTRALIA

Every year since 1986, an Australian Artificial Intelligence Conference has been staged with participants from all over the world, and the 1991 International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence is to be held there, with 200 participants expected to show: the government has actively supported research in the discipline and products like the XL language from Intelligent Systems Research Pty, and the Orion network management system, have found favour overseas; Intelligent Systems Research Japan has licensed Olivetti Corp of Japan to distribute and add functionality to the Japanese version of XL, which uses AT&T’s JAE software running on the Toshiba AS3000 workstation for translation.
