The 1989 PC User show, supposedly big and busy, is being held at the London Olympia Exhibition Hall over the next two days: Day One saw a plethora of launches, forests of press releases and rumours of last minute withdrawals and cancellations by the bigger players, although it may all just be first day jitters and speculation; details of one or two launches follow, but there is a nagging doubt that the survival kit issued by Mindscape International to the weary hackette comprising of painkillers, a set of screwdrivers, sticking plaster, a pencil and eraser, and last but far from least, a condom, is potentially the most interesting thing to come out of the whole jamboree.
