1986 PROFIT OFF 39% AT IBM DEUTSCHLAND

IBM Deutschland prolongs the agony by announcing its turnover figures in March and following up with profits in April, and last month the company reported turnover figures down 9% in local currency terms at DM12,020m (CI No 641). Now the company has announced what that did to profits – they’re down 39% at DM518m – $288.5m. It took unspecified charges for early retirement offered to 750 staff.
