Compania de Telefonos de Chile SA will invest $1,800m between 1993 and 1998 to increase telephone lines and boost service, Reuter reports from Santiago: it told shareholders that it will be able to finance $800m of its total expansion programme from its own resources, but it will need to borrow an additional $1,000m from national and international creditors, some of which has already been secured.
