Marlborough, Massachusetts-based Stratus Computer Corp is expected to announce a $14m investment in a new plant at Blanchardstown, Dublin in the Republic of Ireland, creating an estimated 200 jobs over the next three years. A spokeswoman for the Industrial Development Authority confirmed that negotiations for the project are expected to be completed in another few weeks, but could not give any further details. A 200,000 square foot factory, originally built as a home for Dr Gene Amdahl’s failed Trilogy Ltd venture but never occupied, is expected to be the location for Stratus’ European manufacturing base.
