12 COMPUTER VENDORS TO SUPPORT THE OSI STANDARD

Showing the flag for Open Systems – and, more to the point, trying to drum up interest for Enterprise Networking Event ’88 International show in Baltimore, Maryland, June 5 to 9, executives from 12 major computer and communications vendors AT&T, CDC, Data General, DEC, Hewlett-Packard, Honeywell Bull, IBM, Sun Microsystems, Telenet, Unisys, Wang Labs and Xerox shared a platfom in New York this week to announce that they will support the Open Systems Interconnection standard as the way they will manage multivendor networking today and in the future: the 12 represent more than 80% of computer and comunications products and services sold in the US – and all have previously said they back the OSI standards.
