German Postal Minister Wolfgang Boetsch said the first tranche in a sale of Deutsche Bundespost Telekom shares will contain between 10% and 15% of the telecommunications monopoly’s nominal capital, Reuter reports from Bonn: it could be sold off by mid-1996 and by the end of the decade up to 50% of Telekom’s capital could be listed, but there will probably be a change in government next year and the whole plan will go back onto the shelf, although the Social Democratic Party is now backing the proposals.
