The supply of equipment will begin in November. Ericsson said it hoped that the expansion will increase the number of mobile users by two million. Although this remains the thin end of the wedge, as the region has a population of almost 50 million.
$100 million deal for Ericsson in China
Ericsson have announced that it is to enter in to a $100 million deal with China Mobile's subsidiary Guangxi Mobile Communications of the Guangxi region. Under the terms of the agreement, Nanjing Ericsson Panda Communications, one of Ericsson's joint ventures in China will supply equipment for the expansion of a GSM network.
