Do you ever get sick of the grainy quality of your phone’s camera? Although many of the new smartphones boast impressive cameras with great quality, they are no match to the real thing, especially if you’re out to capture your favourite moments in the best possible resolution,
Sony has launched the QX10 and QX100, lenses that snap onto your smartphone to give you the SLR quality on the go, without carrying around a bulky camera.
The lenses include all of the great features of an SLR camera, including zoom control (10x optical zoom for the QX10 and 3.6x optical for the QX100) and a photo-snapping button on each lens.
Photos that are taken using the lens and your smartphone are saved to each device, and apps for the lens are available for iPhone and Android.
But at $250 for the 19-megapixel QX10 and $500 for the 21-megapixel QX100, it’s certainly not cheap. So for people who are looking to make a career or a serious hobby out of photography, splash out that little extra and invest in a digital SLR camera. However, for a portable solution that is easy to carry around and doesn’t weigh down your pocket or bag, Sony’s clip-on lenses may be the one for you.
