Everyone knows that the golden rule of radio is no silence. So the DJs of Radio 1 are probably finding it difficult to not say anything today. That’s right, not a peep from Grimmy, Fearne, Scott or Greg. Nada.
Thankfully, the airwaves won’t be silent, as they will be playing continuous music all day. This is to celebrate the end of the successful Even More Music Month of September that saw the national radio station have some of the biggest names in music performing in their famous live lounge every day and playing the latest and greatest tracks all day on the radio.
Today there is even more music than ever with continuous, back-to-back tracks all day from the A list – the most played tracks on Radio 1 for the last five years. Oh, and news from Newsbeat – cheers Chris Smith and Tulip Mazunda!
I am currently listening to Scott Mills. His sidekick Chris (famous for his cringey Mila Kunis interview) has taken over the Twitter while Chris has gone to the loo and changed his profile picture. Classic prank. Good one, Chris.
If it weren’t for the great technology that is social networking, we would have no clue what was going on in the Radio 1 office. The DJs could have been at home for all we know. Although, Greg James, who takes over from 4pm did joke that he was scheduling tweets yesterday to appear today so he could skive and go spend the day in Brighton. Let’s see if we can catch him out!
As there are no verbal links between the songs, the tracks have been mixed. It makes me feel a bit like I’m on a night out. Unfortunately, I am sat at my desk. Thank goodness it’s Friday! Bring on the weekend! Thanks for the tunes and the tweets Radio 1!
