Miley Cyrus has been making the headlines more for her lack of clothes and reckless behavior recently than her musical abilities.
Yet again she has posted some candid shots of herself on her instagram account. The most recent set of pictures see her posing in front of her bathroom mirror – a trend that has become popular with teenage girls – in a black bra and sports shorts.
However, the scantily clad selfie photos are pretty tame compared to her photo shoot with controversial photographer Terry Richardson, one of which is now her profile picture on her Twitter account.
Miley Cyrus is no stranger to instagram, with over four million followers who she frequently updates with pictures of her life, and recently a string of sexy pictures.
Fellow pop songstress Rihanna has also been stirring up controversy on instagram since her latest music video, Pour It Up, was banned from some online video sites in 10 minutes. The video was banned for its explicit content which includes twerking in the (near) nude, pole dancers and other sexual content.
Rihanna has previously been criticised for posting sexually explicit photos on instagram. She has also posted photos on her instagram account of her smoking what appeared to be illegal substances, including marijuana.
Instagram users in America who want to follow the naughty goings on of these two provocative pop stars will now have to see adverts when they access the photographic social network.
Despite claiming it wants to make the advertising as ‘natural’ as possible, the Facebook-owned photo sharing service will be displaying adverts on its feeds in a bid to generate more revenue.
As the site continues to escalate in popularity, placing adverts within the feed is being viewed as a good business opportunity for companies and brands who want to connect with younger demographics. Advertising on Facebook has proved very lucrative, thanks to it’s targeted advertising when using Big data gathered through information on personal profiles. The same method could be used on instagram.
