If you work for a tech firm, then it is likely that you are working for a desirable employer. More specifically, if you work for Google or Apple, then you work for the most in-demand employers in the world.
Google has been named the most attractive employer by professional social network LinkedIn. Apple came a close second.
At Google, employees enjoy free yoga sessions and free meals at the in-office canteen. The London office also boasts a slide to travel between floors (only traveling down, obviously, if you want to go up, be normal and boring and take the stairs or lift).
Apple is considered the most valuable brand in the world and has entered LinkedIn’s top five for the first time. While the company does not have the same free, on-site perks as Google, there is a reportedly a great company ethos of working towards a greater good and making everyone feel like they are part of something.
LinkedIn has more than 239 million global members, 13 million of which are from the UK. The list was created by examining the interactions of all these members to assess which companies have the most positive feedback.
David Cohen, senior director of LinkedIn Talent Solutions, EMEA, said: "Employer branding has taken centre stage in the war for talent.
"Firms with strong employment brands are enjoying tremendous competitive advantages, among them driving down cost per hire and reducing employee turnover. These rankings reflect the investment these companies are making in their employer brands."
A quarter of the top 20 best employers were in the tech industry, with Google, Apple, Microsoft and HP all taking places in the top 10 and Amazon placing 18th on the list.
