Ecommerce software company Yabdab Software has released the public beta version of CartLoom ecommerce service, and companion RapidWeaver plugin.

The new ecommerce service is designed for web designers and merchants to incorporate the sale of digital or physical goods into their websites. It supports management of products, inventory, tax, shipping and digital distribution through a web interface.

Reportedly, the new ecommerce service integrates with new or existing websites through the insertion of html snippets and supports online payment providers such as PayPoint, AuthorizeNet and PayPal. It also allows sellers to accept mail-in payment methods instead of online payment methods from their customers.

Offered as a service, Cartloom eliminates designers or sellers requirement for the installation, maintenance and security issues which are associated with managing a traditional shopping cart script on their own site.

The new CartLoom plugin simplifies the process of creating ecommerce enabled pages for RapidWeaver users. The plugin supports product entry, design tools and is compatible with RapidWeaver themes.

CartLoom is available for free during the public beta period and the final product is expected to be available in January 2010. The RapidWeaver plugin will remain free for all CartLoom subscribers.
