Veeam Software, a provider of data protection, disaster recovery and systems management offerings for VMware virtual datacenter environments, has released a new free version of Veeam Reporter product for Vmware.
The company said that the new free version offers capacity planning, change management, and enterprise reporting and chargeback functionality for all VMware administrators.
Veeam said that the new tool includes all the core functionality of the full version of Veeam Reporter, including comprehensive data collection, multi-user support and Microsoft SQL Server backend.
Veeam president and CEO Ratmir Timashev said that Veeam has a long history of providing free management tools for VMware professionals, beginning with Veeam FastSCP and continuing with Veeam Monitor Free Edition and Veeam Business View.
"We know that VMware administrators sometimes operate under budgetary constraints, so we provide free tools to help them get the job done," Timashev said.
By simply installing a new license file, Veeam Reporter Free Edition can be upgraded to the full version of Reporter to gain additional capabilities, such as full capacity planning; historical change management; and microsoft Visio reports for multipathing, network, vMotion and data store utilisation.
The company said that the Veeam Reporter Free Edition is also available as part of Veeam Monitor Plus Free Edition. The bundle includes Veeam Monitor Free Edition, Veeam Reporter Free Edition and Veeam Business View.
