Talend, an open source data integration software provider, has released the enhanced version of Talend On Demand, a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) data integration platform based on Talend Open Studio, the company’s open source data integration platform.
The company said that the enhanced version of Talend On Demand allows distributed teams to share and collaborate on data integration projects, eliminate infrastructure costs and integrate with existing Talend Open Studio deployments.
In addition, the new platform also allows project teams to consolidate data integration work in a centralised and shared repository, which is hosted by Talend, facilitating collaboration, object and code reuse, and promotion of development best practices.
According to Talend, upgraded version allows faster synchronisation of information with the central repository and fully supports the new features of Talend Open Studio including new connectivity to mainframe and business applications. It leverages Talend Open Studio as its design and runtime environment. The new platform does not require any configuration or administration and backup of the centralised repository is handled remotely by Talend.
Fabrice Bonan, co-founder and COO of Talend, said: “Talend On Demand has proven to be an ideal data integration solution for midmarket companies with distributed development teams, companies that work with system integrators and IT outsourcers and any organization that needs to collaborate on projects. With this new version, users have access to a low-cost and maintenance-free enterprise data integration platform that rivals proprietary systems without the need to deploy or support infrastructure components.”
