SteelCloud, an integrator of mobility computing appliance services, has revealed that it will offer its SteelWorks Mobile appliance for BlackBerry Enterprise Server to hosting service providers in the Americas and EMEA markets.
The company said that SteelWorks Mobile appliance for BlackBerry Enterprise Server is available with the features and licensing requirements that will enable hosting service providers to offer a hosted BlackBerry product to their customers.
SteelWorks Mobile, an appliance for BlackBerry Enterprise Server, utilises the company’s plug and play installation. Use of the appliance is expected to enable hosting service providers to be able to deploy a hosted BlackBerry service that can leverage SteelWorks Mobile’s EverAvail technology.
SteelCloud is expected to offer hosting service providers a High Availability (HA) option with their EverAvail technology, which leverages the features of BlackBerry Enterprise Server 5.0 to provide failover to a backup appliance unit, ensuring that there is no interruption to the service provider’s hosted BlackBerry service offering.
The SteelWorks Mobile HA implementation with SyncBeat is a standard feature of the appliance and it requires two appliances for redundant failover operation.
According to the company, some of the other features of SteelWorks Mobile include: ability to get up and running in under 30 minutes; global support from Dell for hardware service and support; Standard High Availability EverAvail for 7/24 customer uptime utilising SyncBeat; and SteelWorks’ database synchronisation facility.
