Software AG has reported total revenue of €267.3m for the second quarter of 2010, an increase of 52% compared to €176.4m for the same period last year.

Product revenue was up by 21% to €161.9m from €133.7m, service revenue increased 150% to €104.4m from €41.7m, webMethods division revenue increased by 18% to €89.4m from €75.5m, while ETS division revenue was down 4% to €96.3m from €100.9m for the same period last year.

Software AG reported EBIT of €58.9m for the second quarter of the fiscal 2010, up 33% from €44.2m in the same period last year. It posted a net income of €37.4m in Q2 2010, compared to €28.9m for the same period last year. Earnings per share rose to €1.32 from €1.02.

Mark Edwards, chief operating officer and member of the executive board of Software AG, said: "We see nothing but great possibilities for the remainder of the year. As the U.S. rebounds from a recession, we are witnessing a shift in customer behavior with an increase in the number of large projects and larger deal sizes in an improving economy.

"The integration of IDS Scheer will also strengthen our growth trend. The ARIS and webMethods product lines uniquely complement each other and we look forward, over the next two quarters, to a common product portfolio."
