Development teams using defect tracking and test planning software from Seapine Software will be able to visualise their data in more meaningful ways now that the product suite has been reworked for its 2009 edition.
The new system has been designed to improve the way users can set up and view reports in SQL Server Reporting Services, Crystal Reports and such like.
It will also let users generate reports with interactive drill-down charts of grouped data and summed columns.
Seapine produces tools for all parts of the application build process, and as well as launching its upgraded testing suite the company has just announced its latest software configuration management system, in the shape of Surround SCM 2009.
The key development for that product line is the move to native relational database management system data storage.
This will mean user sites are able to better leverage their existing database infrastructure and backup strategies, and opt to store SCM databases on different servers for improved scalability.
PostgreSQL and SQL Server are supported in this latest release with other databases to follow, the vendor said.
