SAP and Sybase, a provider of enterprise and mobile software, have unveiled the latest mobile apps designed for a wide range of industries and mobile workers, from executives to knowledge and task workers.
The new mission-critical apps ranges from process-driven to consumer-facing and the new apps mobilise key business functions, allowing employees to work at anytime and from anywhere via mobile devices, freeing them from the confines of their desks.
The latest mobile apps include SAP Electronic Medical Record; SAP Field Service 2.0; SAP CRM Sales; SAP Retail Execution; SAP Citizen Connect; SAP Transport Notification and Status; SAP Transport Tendering; SAP GRC Access Approver and SAP GRC Policy Survey.
SAP has also introduced SAP Store for mobile apps which helps customers to access and download the new mobile apps. The new store is available both via website and through an on-device version for iOS called "SAP Mobile Apps," with Android, BlackBerry and other operating systems to follow.
SAP Electronic Medical Record mobile app moblises patient care by providing instant access to patient records, tracks information at the point of care and allows for collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
SAP Field Service 2.0 mobile app will provide field service engineers a complete customer view to support and update customer activities in real time, while SAP CRM Sales mobile app enables sales professionals with the tools needed to increase revenue, accelerate buying decisions, and maximise productivity.
With SAP Retail Execution, mobile consumer goods manufacturers can increase sales productivity by capturing product and competitive information during store visits, along with providing merchandisers and promotions planners with critical business insights.
Using the SAP Citizen Connect mobile app, citizens can take a picture of an issue and locate, categorise and describe it to local authorities and then receive status updates on reported issues, said the company.
The apps SAP Transport Notification and Status , SAP Transport Tendering, SAP GRC Access Approver and SAP GRC Policy Survey empower the new mobile workforce by delivering more consumable information and processes.
SAP Transport Notification and Status displays freight order details and reports the status of deliveries using predefined events, which improves communication and allows for faster decisions and delivery.
SAP GRC Access Approver mobile app allows authorised employees to gain access to systems and continue their work in a timely manner by acilitating review, time-sensitive approvals and operation-critical access requests for managers.
The SAP GRC Policy Survey allows sales employees to keep track of the latest policy changes within their organization and complete policy-related surveys, the company said.
SAP Sybase Mobile Applications head and executive vice-president Raj Nathan said SAP’s strong momentum in bringing to market waves of mobile apps is driven by tremendous customer demand to unwire their enterprise.
"Not only does SAP see this market opportunity, we have a rapidly expanding network of partners in the mobile space that continue to grow with us. We foresee SAP partners contributing 80% of mobile application development in support of SAP solutions to further meet customers’ mobility needs," said Nathan.
