This afternoon our stay in the dank CBR dungeon was brightened with the arrival of a boxful of goodies hailing all the way from San Francisco.
The care package did not contain climbing apparatus for us to find our way to some natural light and phone signal, but it did contain such tasty treats as Marshmallow Fluffs (nope, me neither), Poptarts, beer, wine and M&Ms.
It came courtesy of Salesforce, as a wish-you-were-here from its annual Dreamforce Conference in SF, and advises us to check out its live broadcast of CEO Marc Benioff’s keynote speech at 5pm.
The joke’s on them, as I’d’ve been doing this anyway, the only difference being that now my notes will be getting sloppier the more beer I consume.
But the point is interesting – the live transmission of Benioff’s keynote, which you can access via the Salesforce Facebook page, gives the firm a global audience as it delves into social media and mobile technologies to connect with customers.
Not a bad way to drive your point home as your company launches its new cloud platform, Salesforce1, which it hopes will drive app development as it tries to take advantage of the Internet of things trend.
