PlanOn, a provider of portable scanning and printing products, has introduced its Mobile Enhanced Print Application for Blackberry, its new Software as a Service (SaaS) cloud-based print server application for the Bluetooth-enabled Blackberry smartphone.
The company claimed that the new service allows users to print full-page web pages and virtually any email attachment, including documents, spreadsheets, pdfs, presentations, photos and images, directly through the Blackberry, using the company’s PrintStik mobile printer.
The new service reportedly extends the mobile printing capabilities and convenience of the company’s PrintStik portable printers for Blackberry users. PrintStik is a small full page printer with a self-contained roll of paper, rechargeable battery and embedded Bluetooth technology.
The PrintStik uses thermal paper in pop-in cartridges, so no messy ink or toner is ever needed. Designed ruggedly for portable reliability, the PrintStik produces straight, flat sheets with smudge-free high 600dpi resolution print quality, the company said.
The company further said that the new service captures content of any document or attachment, or the location of a web page currently being viewed, automatically converts it to a print-ready file format, and sends it through the Blackberry directly to the PrintStik for instant printing anywhere anytime.

PlanOn is offering the Mobile Enhanced Print Application in a Software as a Service (SaaS) subscription model for individual users. The service is free of charge for the first full year for users of its PrintStik PS950 model mobile printer, and for six months for users of the PS905 model. After the initial period, the subscription is priced at $29.99 a year.
