UK-based law firm Selachii is set to file a class action, with support from 400 citizens in London against the world’s largest bitcoin exchange ‘MtGox’ and its owners.
According to the law firm, submissions will end on 07 March and would then compile the list of plaintiffs.
Further, it will also sue the parent firm of MtGox, K K Tibanne, and the its CEO Mark Karpeles in London.
Mt.Gox has already been sued by the US customer over alleged negligence and fraud.
Selachii’s co-founder Richard Howlett told Reuters: "There are already over 400 people who are joining in … From every country you can think of."
Last month, Mt. Gox filed for bankruptcy, disclosing that it has outstanding debts of about $64m.
The exchange had reportedly lost 744,408 bitcoins (worth $350m) through a vulnerability exploited by hackers and cyber criminals.
Dubbed the ‘transaction malleability’ issue, the flaw enabled third-parties to modify the hash of a transaction, allowing it to appear as if the transaction had not been completed.
