McAfee and Citrix Systems have unveiled Management for Optimized Virtualized Environments AntiVirus (MOVE AV), to make virtual desktop security simpler and scalable for large enterprise deployments.
The new MOVE AV is designed for Citrix XenDesktop, which allows customers to secure corporate data and applications delivered to virtual desktops running on servers in the datacentre.
McAfee endpoint protection business unit general manager Candace Worley said, that while traditional security tools and offerings can get in the way of maximising the full power of virtualisation, the company is providing optimised security offerings specifically designed for virtualised environments.
"McAfee and Citrix are giving customers security that is flexible, secure and designed to protect virtual desktops and servers without impacting performance," Worley said.
The companies also previewed the next phase of their partnership, which would allow for the extension of McAfee MOVE to support laptop users by integrating security directly into the Citrix XenClient hypervisor.
