A survey conducted by enterprise mobility services provider iPass, found that majority of mobile employees never disconnect from technology and carry multiple mobile devices.

The company said that among the 1,100 mobile enterprise employees it surveyed (54% from North America, 30% from Europe and 10% from Asia Pac), 53.6% of the respondents have cited to never truly disconnect from technology.

Of the 46.4% of mobile employees that said to disconnect occasionally, cited reasons that were mostly situational, iPass said.

The mobility services provider said that its survey found that ninety four percent of mobile employees connect to the Internet even while on vacation, and the majority connect for work.

Nearly 97% of mobile employees carry two or more mobile devices, and almost 50% carried three or more.

Among those surveyed, more than 90% of employees use their smartphone for both work and personal business, while 91% of the consumer devices (like the iPad and tablet PC) users currently use it or plan to use it for work.

The report revealed that most respondents use email, calendar, text messaging and browsing for both work and personal on their smartphones. The only exception is social media, which is rarely accessed for work.
