Kronos says it expects to reduce employee turnover and costs after integrating social networking capabilities with its workforce management solution.
The Berkshire-based company said the updated solution, which provides employees with a social profile, would ensure managers organise timetables and staffing better via streaming updates.
The solution is also a platform for employees to receive training, share information and ideas as well as problem solving, the company said.
Bill Bartow, VP of global product management at Kronos, said the solution could unlock value for organisations of all sizes and types.
"From retail stores to manufacturing plants to healthcare facilities, tapping into the creativity and enthusiasm of employees will improve business performance, lead to better customer service, propel new leadership, and reduce employee churn," he said.
Ray Wang, principal analyst and CEO at Constellation Research, said: "Until now, we’ve largely seen enterprise social networking and gamification techniques applied to innovation program
"Organisations must bring social networking and collaboration into an entirely new realm. Those who do are truly doing something innovative and will stand out in the marketplace."
