KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has moved 11,200 of its crew members to Gmail as part of their Google Apps Premier Edition deployment.
Google said that the new offering will enable KLM crew members to send and receive e-mails from any internet connected device, including laptops, shared computers, mobile phones or PDA devices.
Gmail provides 25GB of storage per account and offers a messaging platform with integrated Google Talk and various features that facilitate communication such as message translation that enables users to translate e-mails from and into 42 different languages.
According to Google, the Apps Premier Edition also offers Google Calendar, a suite of collaboration products including Google Docs that enables users to create and share documents, presentations and spreadsheets in real-time; Google Sites that helps in creating a website; and Google Video for Business, which makes company content and communication more personal, visual and engaging.
