Juniper Networks has upgraded its Spotlight Secure threat intelligence platform, which it claims will improve IT response to network threats.
The networking firm said Spotlight Secure is now available to more threat intelligent data feeds from other vendors, which can be tied to the firewall policies in the Juniper’s SRX Series Services Gateways for enterprises and service providers.
This will allow IT departments to push enforcement rules to SRX firewalls and cut off "command-and-control traffic", as well as protect against threats targeting their networks, Juniper said.
Users can also choose between different threat detection technologies available rather than being locked into only intelligence data offered by their firewall vendor.
Jonathan Davidson, SVP and general manager of Juniper’s Security, Switching, and Solutions Business Unit said: "We have transformed our security solution to address the challenges and constraints that our customers face with traditional firewalls.
"By creating an open framework that enables the aggregation of intelligence data from multiple feeds, we can provide application and user-level visibility. In addition, this solution is able to increase agility to effectively combat evolving threats in order to keep High-IQ networks secure."
Juniper added that the platform also provides increased scalability, which allows over one million entries in custom feeds,
