Juniper Networks has released its latest line of EX4600 Ethernet switches, which it claims will help customers better data access to cloud services at reduced costs.
The EX4600 switches, which integrate Juniper’s data centre and open converged framework (OFC) technologies, are designed to support high bandwidth service, such as unified communications and support access to cloud applications across the campus and devices at reduced costs.
The switches support Juniper’s virtual chassis technology, Juniper claims enables up to 10 interconnected switches to operate as a single device with one IP device.
The company hopes it will help their customers simply management, give them more flexible deployment options and also give them insight technology for advanced analytics.
Other features include Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching, zero-touch provisioning, automatic rollback and Python scripting as well as integration with OpenStack and Chef.
Nigel Oakley, director of data centre and cloud technologies, EMEA at Juniper, said: "As more and more personal devices are being brought into the campus and enterprises continue to deploy cloud-based business applications, great demands are being put on the campus network to not only support varying devices but also ensure uninterrupted data access to cloud services.
Kevin Barker, co-founder and chief technology officer, Independent Technology Group, added: "Juniper Networks’ EX4600 Ethernet switches are able to replace less flexible legacy infrastructure while increasing performance, ensuring uptime and simplifying operations. This provides choice for customers that need to move to 10G connectivity now and want the option to expand to 40G connectivity."
