IBM has added a new series of enhancements to its SmartCloud to speed up the reporting and analytics, and SmartCloud availability for SAP HANA database.
The enhancements include DB2 10.5 with BLU Acceleration technology from the IBM Research and Development labs that claimed to speed up reporting and analytics processes by about 25 times to deliver real time analytics through Cloud.
The new BLU Acceleration technology adds Dynamic In-memory analytics to DB2 database software on IBM SmartCloud to help companies and governments handle the Big Data by making it simpler to analyse the data, the company added.
IBM SmartCloud Services general manager, Jim Comfort, said: "Clients are looking to leverage big data and analytics at the speed of business."
Services offered by the BLU acceleration technology include dynamic in-memory, load and go, parallel vector processing and the actionable compression.
Additionally, the company is opening the IBM SmartCloud in the SAP HANA database that is hosted on SmartCloud Enterprise+ and is available on IBM SmartCloud Enterprise (SCE) for early stage development and test.
The enhanced offering comes with IBM’s Cognos software integrated with SAP applications to offer perspective and context to data needed to draw insight from it.
