Facebook chief operating officer (COO) Sheryl Sandberg may be questioned later this month as part of a long-running antitrust lawsuit between seven technology firms.
The lawsuit filed by five employees in 2011 against Google, Intuit, Apple, Intel, Adobe Systems, Walt Disney’s Pixar animation unit, and Lucasfilm who claimed to have formed an agreement not to recruit each others’ employees, breaking anti-trust laws.
Bloomberg reported that neither Facebook nor Sandberg is a defendant and Google chief executive officer Larry Page, Lucasfilm CEO George Lucas and Apple CEO Tim Cook have already been questioned in the lawsuit.
US District Judge Lucy Koh in San Jose, California, who is hearing the case, allowed lawyers for employees suing the firms to conduct the deposition later this month.
Facebook hired Sandberg, who worked at Google as vice president of global sales and operations, as its COO in 2008 and then named her as its first female director in June last year.
According to Bloomberg, in a filing on 29 March, Google provided six documents to the court, one of which was Sandberg’s employment deal with the company.
