Imprivata has announced that Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has become the new UK healthcare organisation to rollout its OneSign to provide access to medical applications via Single Sign-On (SSO) technology.

The company said that the Foundation Trust has deployed SSO across 40 applications; and OneSign was implemented into the organisation’s network infrastructure without requiring any changes to the Active Directory schema.

Imprivata claimed that the rollout of OneSign, has strengthened user authentication, streamlined application access and simplified compliance reporting.

The company’s Self Service Password Reset feature has also addressed challenges associated with password lock-outs for staff working outside of IT helpdesk hours.

Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals senior IT project manager Neil Racher said the OneSign platform has improved data access from the end-user perspective and is facilitating auditing capabilities which allow IT staff to track which users have accessed data and when.

Imprivata OneSign’s key features include "One-Touch" Follow-Me desktops, Single Sign-On/Sign-Off, Secure Walk-Away, FastPass, ProveID, Fast User Switching for both inpatient and ambulatory workflows, Self-Service Password Reset, application-level authentication, built-in support for a range of authentication devices, and integration with Citrix, VMView, Fusionfx for context management and user provisioning systems.
