Demandware has appointed Tom Ebling as the new chief executive officer, who will lead the company into its next phase, widespread market adoption of its on-demand eCommerce platform.
Mr Ebling has more than 20 years of senior leadership experience in business management and software development to Demandware. His retail technology experience includes serving as chief executive officer of ProfitLogic, which he led to successful acquisition by Oracle in 2005. Previously, Ebling served as CEO of Torrent Systems, a data warehousing and analytics software provider acquired by Ascential Software in 2001.
Mr Ebling also spent 18 years of his career helping to grow Marcam Solutions from a startup to $200m in revenues and a successful IPO. Most recently, he served as CEO of Lattice Engines, a startup offering sales and optimisation solutions to large sales organisations.
Ebling, said: “The ecommerce marketplace is on the verge of a renaissance as rigid legacy commerce platforms are proving inadequate for retailers looking to continuously be at the forefront of the consumer online experience.
“Demandware has demonstrated a much more rapid rate of growth than the largest players in the industry over the past year with customer wins for its platform. And as more retailers seek out solutions to power their next-generation initiatives, I’m thrilled to join the company that is leading the way with a truly on-demand ecommerce platform that meets the needs of innovative retailers.”
