Citrix Systems has unveiled new cloud offerings based on an open technology stack with deep interoperability between layers, enabling enterprises to leverage existing investments, including third-party virtualisation technologies and tools.
According to Citrix, the new offerings include On-Boarding that enables migration of existing applications and workloads into cloud infrastructures, including virtual machine migration and support for the open virtualisation format (OVF); and development and test offering that incorporates application lifecycle management to help organisations cut both the time and budget required to set-up and allocate new infrastructure for test and development workloads in the cloud.
The new offerings also include on-demand applications that transform Windows enterprise applications into a software-as-a-service (SaaS) offering that can be delivered over the web as an on-demand service; and on-demand desktops designed to enable enterprise customers to deliver Windows virtual desktops from the cloud.
In addition, the new on-demand demos allows software companies to make their product demos available to customers and prospects over the web with no setup, downloads or configuration required.
