Citrix Systems has released its new software client Receiver, which allows access to any existing business application, desktop or document on any device, including PCs, Macs, laptops, thin clients, tablets and smartphones.

Citrix said that the new release adds user experience enhancements, including ability to touch-enable existing Windows applications on any touchscreen tablet and smartphone, and support a range of new devices such as BlackBerry PlayBook, Cisco Cius, Dell Streak and the Samsung Galaxy offerings.

The features of new release includes: data security for any user and device which ensures that any document created by a corporate-delivered app can be stored in an encrypted folder; and zero-touch and silent updates which provides IT complete control over security, performance, and user experience.

In addition, it also offers an open and extensible framework which supports a range of third-party plug-ins including support for application delivery offerings like Microsoft App-V.

The company has also unveiled a new version of its Receiver for iPad, which adds new touch, gesture and user experience enhancements for upcoming Apple iOS 4.2 software release.
