Borqs Beijing, a provider of software offerings for mobile Internet, has released new version of its open mobile intelligent software platform Open Mobile Operating System (OPhone OS) that includes Linux Kernel, middleware, Java virtual machine, application software and other applications such as FOTA, RIL and WebKit.

The company said that its new OPhone 2.0 platform features a range of functionality upgrades, including more than 1,000 improvements in UI/UE, 300 upgrades, and over 10 newly added functionalities. It also includes new functionalities to provide users with mobile/portable office and E-reading convenience.

Borqs said that its new mobile intelligent software platform supports manufacturer-customisable homepage, theme editing tools, customisation, preview, and third-party download of themes. In addition, it features dynamic 3D effects and wallpapers along with widgets that are embedded with JavaScripts and HTML to deliver various functionalities.

According to the company, the platform’s new multi-touch functionality makes zooming operations possible on browsing and more suitable for SMS, MMS, email and document reading. OPhone OS 2.0 has a game engine coupled with an accelerated GPU; and facilitates users to visit websites, send or receive emails, read e-books, post comments, and update micro-blogs.
