Apple has recruited Paul Deneve, the ex-CEO of French luxury group Yves Saint Laurent, to work on unspecified ‘special projects’, reporting to the CEO, Tim Cook.
Prior to the current position, Deneve also held senior positions at fashion brands including Courrèges, Nina Ricci, and Lanvin, while has also worked for seven years during the 1990s in Apple’s European sales and marketing division.
Deneve had worked with the iPhone maker in its European unit during the 1990s. Apple spokeswoman Kristin Huguet said that the company welcomes Paul Deneve.
"He’ll be working on special projects as a VP reporting directly to Tim Cook," Huguet said.
Apple also has several fashion executives within its corporate ranks, including Mickey Drexler, the chairman and CEO of J Crew Group and even Cook is a director at Nike.
Further, the French anti-trust watchdog Autorite de la Concurrence has raided iPhone maker’s offices in the France after reported claims of unfair resale practices by the firm.
